WORK SYNOPSIS:

Fiona is a Senior Associate within our Wills, Trusts and Estates team. Fiona joined Prettys in September 2023, having worked locally in Suffolk specializing in Private client work.

Earlier in her career, Fiona worked in Property law, and this background enables her to use her experience to advise on the property aspects which occur in drafting wills or dealing with the administration of estates.

EXPERTISE:

Fiona is a Trust and Estate Practitioner (TEP) and has a STEP accreditation certificate with distinction in Advising Vulnerable Clients. She uses this to shape her approach in advising clients who need a Will, helping them with Lasting Powers of Attorney or administering an Estate when a loved one dies.

As an experienced Solicitor, she can also advise on declarations of trust so that an individual investment into a property is clearly recorded for the future and any division of assets on the sale of that property can be decided in advance.

Fiona’s overriding aim is to help individuals find a solution to their legal issues so that they know that their personal matters are in good order.

Areas of expertise include:

  • Administration of Estates and Trusts
  • Wills and tax planning
  • Advice on Care home fees and later life planning
  • Deeds of variation
  • Probate
  • Declarations of Trusts
  • Advising on and preparing Lasting Power of Attorney

PERSONAL SYNOPSIS:

Outside of work, Fiona enjoys skiing, walking, travel and going to the theatre. Having previously worked and lived in London, Fiona has now lived in Suffolk for the last 30 years with her husband (who teaches about wine) and her cat Harley.
