WORK SYNOPSIS:
Bushra joined Prettys in 2022 bringing additional depth and specialist skills to the Commercial Dispute Resolution team.
He advises a broad range of companies in the manufacturing and retail sectors on a variety of dispute resolution issues including complex breaches of contract, fraud and asset recovery, cross-border disputes, contractual and regulatory issues, professional negligence and construction. Bushra also has niche expertise in advising regulated individuals, including doctors, dentists, nurses, accountants, and solicitors on regulatory and disciplinary issues and commercial entities on audit and compliance-related matters.
EXPERTISE:
Having qualified as a solicitor in 2007 with one of East Anglia’s largest commercial firms, Bushra has since worked across London and the southeast, building up a strong client base both in the UK and abroad. He gained additional expertise as in-house legal counsel to an international asset financing company before returning to private practice.
PERSONAL SYNOPSIS:
Bushra is well travelled, grew up in the Middle East and is a fluent Arabic speaker. He is interested in a variety of different sports and in representing those who come from that background. He was a semi-professional footballer at one point but now focuses on assisting sportspeople with their legal needs.

Acting for TV and Media Company in a defamation matter involving derogatory marks published on social media, acting for a large regional company in a construction dispute featuring a claim worth up to £1m where there had been large-scale defective concrete supply which was to be used in the foundations of building a development, acting for an accountant in regulatory proceedings brought by ACCA, acting for a minority shareholder in a quasi-partnership dispute which features shares in entities which are in the cosmetics industry, advising a professional footballer in relation to a contractual dispute with a parent club in a transfer embargo.
