We are delighted to announce that Prettys has been shortlisted in the Community Involvement category for the East Anglian Daily Times Business Awards 2017.  The award is sponsored by the Suffolk Agricultural Association and judged upon initiative, company involvement, impact and education. Winners will be announced on July 6th, 2017.

In the last year, we have raised almost £4,500 by organising and taking part in a number of charity events. This has included bake-offs, dress-down days and running a week-long tandemathon commute.

Many of our staff have been proactively involved in the community by volunteering at the Suffolk Law Advice Centre, the Ipswich Winter Night Shelter, the Ipswich Soup Kitchen and in planting 110 trees in Christchurch Park to mark Prettys’ 110th anniversary. More recently, our estates department organised a number of information seminars in support of Dementia Awareness Week.

Ian Carr, Prettys CEO, commented; “Corporate Social Responsibility is very much at the heart of Prettys. We have a dedicated CSR committee who lead a range of fundraising and charitable activities. We are thrilled to be recognised for our achievements, however the greater reward is seeing the impact our work has had in the community.”

We are also committed to supporting the local education sector and run an active education programme to train and support the next generation of lawyers. Elements of the programme include providing mentors for university law students, running regular skills workshops for individuals to gain a greater understanding of the legal sector and offering placements for work experience.

A number of our staff members will be taking place in the Ipswich Legal Walk on the 26th June raising money for local advice services. Help us reach our target by donating here: https://mydonate.bt.com/fundraisers/prettyssolicitorsipswich
