The Telegraph report that Estate Agents are scrambling to deal with soaring inquiries, the Express announced that the housing market was in a state of uncertainty, Estate Agency Today reported that the UK experienced a huge surge of public interest just hours after the industry lockdown came to an end. Rightmove had 2,115 properties added to their portal in the first six hours of agencies returning to business.

On Wednesday 13th May the government announced that it had amended the coronavirus (COVID 19) regulations  to make clear that people who wish to move home can do so. The guidance also provides important public health information to ensure that moving home and the key activities around this, such as viewing property, can happen safely.

At Prettys Solicitors our conveyancing team have been watching this situation carefully, experience has taught us that the guidelines get tweaked to ensure the balance between safety and normality is proportionate. We are gathering some FAQ’s for you and hope to share them with you sometime next week.

If your “lockdown” has tempted you to move and you wish to talk to us about conveyancing please give Penny Gordon a call on 01473 298338.
