A senior associate at Prettys Solicitors has been shortlisted at the Central and East of England Insider Dealmaker Awards.

Daniel Billson, Corporate Services team, who also launched and heads up Prettys’ Sports Law initiative, has been nominated for Emerging Dealmaker of the Year.

The awards, which are due to take place on 22 April 2021, recognise the achievements of those who operate within the corporate finance community and include lawyers, accountants, banks, corporate finance firms and entrepreneurs.

The Emerging Dealmaker of the Year category celebrates individuals aged 35 or under who work in corporate finance within the Central and East of England and Daniel is the only lawyer to make the shortlist.

Daniel, who has worked at Prettys for more than 10 years since starting his training contract in 2010, said: “I am really pleased to have been nominated and shortlisted for such a prominent award.

“Starting up Prettys’ Sports Law initiative in late 2019 and combining it with my Corporate work has taken considerable effort, notwithstanding the additional challenges that we have all faced with the pandemic.  It is satisfying to receive this recognition for my efforts over the past year.  Most importantly, it serves as motivation to continue to progress in two areas of law I am so passionate about.”

Prettys CEO Ian Carr said: “We are thrilled to hear of Danial Billson’s shortlisting. He is a worthy winner of such a prestigious title – young man who has achieved an awful lot during his career and continues to challenge himself to go further and do better.”
