Prettys has promoted Rebecca Cleal to the role of partner in the firm with effect from 1 October. This is the firm’s second additional partner appointment in as many months and is a clear indication of the organisation’s plans for strategic growth.

Ms Cleal has been a senior associate solicitor with Prettys since joining the Commercial Property team in 2019. Prior to this, she worked in-house for nine years as director of property and legal services for a large AIM-listed PLC based in Norfolk. This role included acting as company secretary and advising the board on legal issues.

While Ms Cleal’s primary focus is on advising clients on commercial leasehold transactions, she also has experience in commercial developments, site acquisitions, auction sales, property finance and agricultural diversification options. Having also managed the real estates and facilities team as part of her previous in-house role, her property knowledge also extends beyond the legal and commercial.

Pretty’s Senior Partner Ian Waine comments:

“Rebecca has been a strong asset to the firm since joining us and we are now delighted that she is joining the firm’s growing partnership. Her in-house experience has resulted in a broad commercial approach to legal matters, understanding what is important to businesses and how her clients think, over and above her excellent legal skills”.

Rebecca Cleal adds:

“When I joined Prettys three years ago, I did so because I liked their bespoke and flexible approach to advising clients. They work in a way that I would have appreciated as a client and is how I like to work as a lawyer. I’m very pleased to have been asked to join the partnership and take an increasing role in the future growth of the business.”
